How many treatments will I need?

All permanent hair removal treatments can only target and remove hairs in a particular phase of their growth cycle. Therefore, at any one treatment session, certain hairs will be dormant and not able to be treated. Because of this, multiple treatments are usually necessary to ensure all hair follicles are eventually caught at the right time in their cycle and removed by treatment. Most people benefit best from 6 to 10 treatments, depending on hair thickness, the size of the area and the hair’s growth cycle. In saying this, most patients should see around 60% reduction in as little as 6 treatments.

How far apart can I have my treatments?

Treatments are performed from 4 to 12 weeks intervals for face and 6 to 14 weeks intervals for body, depending on your growth. These treatments will be spaced out further apart as your growth becomes finer and slower over time.

What can I expect after my treatment?

Post treatment, the hairs singe into the hair follicle staying like this for up to 12-20 days, they will naturally fall out on their own leaving you with a hair free period until 1 week before your next treatment. As your growth starts to come through, it becomes finer, slower and more sporadic. Slight follicle swelling, mild erythema can occur similar to a post waxing however this generally lasts for only an hour or so after your treatment. In some cases, swelling and erythema can last up to 24 hours however this is not too common.

How soon will I see results?

Results are generally seen 2 to 3 weeks after your first session.

What do I need to do to prepare?

You must always shave down the treatment area 24 to 48 hours prior to your appointment to ensure for best results. No sun exposure, solarium or tan is to be applied to the treatment area 2 weeks prior to your treatment.

What do I need to do post treatment?

Sun exposure must be avoided for 1-week post treatment. If so, follicle swelling, irritation and infection can occur. We always suggest to exfoliate the treatment area 1 week post treatment to encourage the hair growth to fall out of the hair follicle and to avoid ingrown hairs.
